The work makes reference to an ancient Greek Goddess of the Womb, also known by the name of Lamba; was wife of Dysaules and mother of Mise. In its representations it does not have a head, but a face that appears on the torso.

The play was inspired by the book "Women who run with the Wolves", by Clarissa Pinkola Estés.
